The Groovebug is: (and what the band members have been up to for the last 5 years)

Vocals - Kieran Milne

Let's see... I had a daughter. Toured twice with Organix. Almost moved to Montreal, then didn't. Almost moved to California, then didn't. Direct and sing for Big Band Caravane. Travel often to California because I'm supa-cool.

Drums - Jeff Asselin

Got married. Enough said.

Percussion - Andrew Abraham

Since 2002? I can't think that far back! Older, more gray hair and hopefully wiser! Moved from the dark side (Quebec) to Hammond, ON. Got married in October 2006 to my lovely wife Sonya. Now have a beautiful daughter born November 2007 named Cadence. Still got my '87 IROC...yep...even after marriage. Still spend most of my time at work (Musicare Inc.) and hope to win the 649 someday...wishful thinking!

Bass - Pete Emond

Well, I thought it would be a good idea to pop out a couple of kids so I did (well my wife did). Anyway, business as usual at the high school where I teach. My other band Big Newton is still going strong.

Guitar - Martin Richard

I'm coming back home from the Beijing olympics and I will be very happy to hold my baby strat and play some groove out of me.

Keyboard - Norm Diotte

I have kept busy at home with my son and wife and still perform around the national capital area from time to time. Catch my entry to the Canada's Anthem for Hockey contest.

Alto Sax - Brian Asselin

After The Groovebug broke up in 2002, Brian went through an identity crisis where he thought he was his twin brother Jeff - everyone kept getting them confused and people honestly liked Jeff better. It didn't become a problem until the real Jeff (not Brian playing Jeff) got married to Cindy - you can imagine the wedding night - pretty awkward! After that fiasco, Jeff, I mean Brian went into therapy to help him get back to his roots. It took a short 4 years to get him back on track so please who ever is reading this please don't call him Brian, I mean Jeff - whatever!! After therapy, Brian moved to the United States to become America's new triple threat and after playing the lead role in "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" 1 and 2 and winning both "So You Think You Can Dance" and "American Idol", Brian decided to flee away from the Paparazzi back to Ottawa and pick up the saxophone again.

Tenor Sax - Dave Rama

Since 2002 I have been raising children from 2 and 0 to 6 and 8 and have been playing about once every 6 months for free. After turning 34 I felt a strong urge to go back to my 70's roots. Those were great years between 0 and 6. Very formative. Great food. I really knew how to shake it and knew that when Groovebug came callin', that I WAS IN. That's right. THANK YOU.

Baritone Sax - Michael Dalrymple

I got married to my beautiful wife, have a 3-year old son now and two teenage step-daughters, have a great job with the government and just bought a new house. Still play around town as time permits. Enjoying the good life I guess.

Trombone - Graham Lonsdale

No entry. (But Graham is still on the music scene...when he's not working at local restaurants making sure that your food is cooked right.)

Trumpet - Nick Dyson

Starting in 2003, I was traveling as Lead Trumpet/Musical Director for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Since moving to Ottawa in January of 2008, I've joined the Impressions In Jazz Orchestra as lead trumpet, been featured as a soloist with Ottawa Superband's Tribute to Maynard Ferguson and played lead trumpet with Gladys Knight at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival. I was happy to accept the invitation to play with The Groovebug because I heard it was going to be a great party with great people and it keeps me from having to pay the cover charge. I prefer to pay the barman.
